How many therapists do you know with bright pink hair? Sherry Merriam says it’s her way of telling clients that they can ‘bring their weird’ to Phoenix Mental Health and she’s going to love it. Sherry works with a lot of people who haven’t had success with traditional therapists and mainstream practices. Many were ready to give up on therapy altogether or afraid to even try it—until they met Sherry. Her holistic background in wellness includes 17 of experience working in the healthcare field and certification as a Tai Chi instructor. Sherry is LGBTQ+-knowledgeable and takes a sex-positive and non-judgmental approach to gender and sexual diversity. She especially appreciates working with the overlapping and diverse cultural communities of kink, non-monogamy, Paganism and geek.
In her personal time, Sherry embraces nerdy stuff, crafting, hiking and canoeing. She also enjoys collaborating creatively and professionally with her husband of more than 20 years.
